General information: Stansted is the third smallest airport within London. However, because of its capital location it still provides many facilities as well as a wide range of flight operators and destinations.

How to get there:If you live in the surrounding areas of London, one of the most convenient ways of traveling to and from Stansted is by the Stansted Express Train that leaves from Liverpool Street station and takes approximately 45mins. However, there are many other options including the National Express Coach services from surrounding areas, as well as buses and taxis. You are also able to travel by car as parking is available.

Facilities available:There is a huge range of restaurants, cafes and bars - meaning that you will never get bored waiting for a flight. The high street duty free shops also mean that you will be able to pass the time and find some amazing bargains. As well as these facilities, there are business and family facilities available, including arcades for children and aduts.

Destinations from airport: Stansted's size and capital location means that it is able to offer a wide variety of destinations, from popular holiday destinations such as Paphos and Lyon to more unusual destinations that can be used for both leisure and business.

Operators:Stansted is ideal for those wanting a budget flight, as two of the main operators here are easyJet and Ryanair. There are also a selection of other country specific airlines that operate here, such as America Airlines and AirBerlin.

I used to live only an hour away from Stansted, and would use it annually for my holidays.

It has all the amenities that are provided by the larger London airports, and also flies to similar destinations. It is ideal if you want to fly to a European city or destination, and flights can be quite cheap.

However, I did used to find that if I was looking for a real bargain flights or a long-haul flight then it was much cheaper to put up with the hassle of the larger London airports, such as Heathrow and Gatwick.

But, for what it is, Stansted is an ideal and convenient airport for family holidays, city breaks and European destinations.

Stansted Airport offers many European flights, as well as a few international flights. It is an ideal airport if you like a smaller airport, but is also convenient for those who live in and around London.
