Default Tips for Airport Parking

Top Tips for booking airport parking

• Make sure you know the company you are booking with. Take the time to look at their ‘about us’ page. It is easy to get caught out when you are booking on the internet as there are literally hundreds of companies who resell airport parking on the internet.

• Check the company’s price guarantee. Make sure you don’t get caught out, read information thoroughly.

• Think about adding the cancellation waiver to your parking. The average price for a week's airport parking can be up to about £60 but, for around an extra 75p, if you cancel and your booking within the cancellation guidelines, you can get all of your money back.

• Book at the right time. Prices on airport parking can change daily and sometimes more than once. To make sure you get the price you are quoted, reserve your parking space right away.

• Book early. The difference of booking early can be up to 25%. Many car parks give an advance purchase prices and the earlier that you book the more likely you are to be able to find cheaper spaces. If you do find a cheap parking time, book it straight away, as cheaper prices are generally withdrawn as you get closer to the date and are also subject to availability.

• What's most important about the car park? The times of transfer and the frequency of transfer are what customers say are most important. So check these on the website before you book.

• Check the cost of a hotel with parking package. You should also compare the prices of airport parking with hotel and parking packages. As specific times of the year, especially August and September, parking and hotel can cost around £20 cheaper than just the parking on its own. It is also great, as if you have an early check in you can stay at the airport overnight and be there on time.

• The Golden rule - Never turn up without pre-booking your parking. The airport car parks can charge a large premium for those who turn up to park on the day, which can be around 60% more than the prices you can find on the internet, even if you book online at the last minute. You can still save some cash if you book on your day of travel.

Default Airport Parking

I definitely agree with these tips, I have got caught by airport parking before.

Another tip might also be to get an airport taxi to and from the airport. It depends on how far away you live and how many of you there are to spread the cost, but sometimes it can be much cheaper than parking your own car - and much more relaxing. It also means that you don't have to trek back to your car after you have just got off the plane.
