Tunisia Airoports
There are eight major airports in Tunisia, with international flights arriving at most hubs including Tunis-Carthage, Monastir, Jerba, Tozeur and Tabarka. Most international flights come in from European, Middle Eastern and North African destinations with Tunisia’s flag carrier airline, Tunis Air. There are no direct flights between Tunisia and North America, South America, Asia or Australasia.
Monastir-Habib Bourguiba International Airport is situated on Tunisia’s northeastern coast and features a single terminal building where all domestic and international flights are catered for. Three to four-million people per year pass through Monastir-Habib Airport, which is located only a few miles from the city. Public transportation is available for transfers to the city, as are taxis.
Visitors can also get here by ferry crossing from France or Italy and it is possible to bring your own vehicle, although there is a lot of paperwork involved. Tunisia isn’t all that big, with the longest domestic flight within the country being about an hour. Alternatively, the railways here are modern and efficient, and buses run to just about everywhere in the country.
